Questions.

This is a conversation, so I have questions for you as well. Click on any one to see more details.

1 How does the Lead Founder Guide work with the EIRs, Head of School, and the rest of the staff?

A big draw of this role is that the guide can help build / shape the program. I’m curious as to the extent of this: which domains belong to the guide, which to the EIRs (and others), and how the boundaries of these domains are coordinated within the team.

2 What would a typical day look like for a Lead Founder Guide?

I understand the general structure of the day / week from the Founders School website, but what would the mornings look like when the students are doing their academics? Are the afternoons quite variable, i.e. a mix of skill workshops, 1:1s, etc., or does it follow a more fixed schedule?

3 What’s the planned start date for the role?

I live in Los Angeles and this would be a substantial move. Having ample lead time would help me and my family prepare for it.

4 Is the Founders School calendar year schedule the same as Alpha School's?

If the school schedule follows this same calendar, that’s great. But if there are deviations, then I’d like to know that in advance.

5 What is the policy for children of Founders School staff?

The biggest question mark right now is what we’d do for our 5-year-old daughter’s school situation. Is tuition remission for Alpha School offered as a staff benefit? That would be a big consideration in thinking through this move.

6 What is the guide’s role in maintaining parent relationships?

I imagine that parents would appreciate check-in’s and discussions as to how their children are doing. Is this within the scope of the Lead Guide’s role, and if so, how structured would these check-in’s be?

Thanks for reading. Would be happy to continue the conversation:
